Seeking Lifeguards for Moonlight Day Camp
We are looking to hire dependable and certified lifeguard staff for the summer Day Camp in a beautiful bungalow colony in the Catskill Mountains. Moonlight Day Camp serves the Modern Orthodox residents of Moonlight Cottages and neighboring towns and bungalow colonies, with programs and activities for boys and girls from ages 2-11. Good pay commensurate with experience; clean new air-conditioned dorm accommodations; weekly shopping runs; fun, structured after-hours staff-only activities; an enjoyable summer work environment; and access to great facilities are just some of the perks of working here.
Your goal as a lifeguard is simple: Ensure the safety, happiness and well-being of our campers as they enjoy the use of our swimming facilities.
Applicants need to be pre-certified to work as a lifeguard, and the ability to focus, and take direction while on the job. Lifeguards report to the Camp Director and must attend two days of all-staff orientation and training before camp begins.
Specific Responsibilities
Supervise pool facilities together with your co-lifeguards and present counselors.
Monitor the health, safety and well-being of all people in and around the pool areas under your supervision.
Ensure the water levels and pool environment meet or exceed Board of Health safety standards.
Watch the pool areas as part of a rotation with your co-lifeguards, Sunday-Friday.
Help maintain a spiritual atmosphere appropriate for a modern Orthodox Jewish camp by adhering to our dress code and attending minyan (boys).
